SYNOPSIS
In IJsselmonde, one of Rotterdam’s toughest neighborhoods, 10-year-old Gush and his friend Kevin survive a frightening near drowning in the Meuse, a reminder of how quickly childhood can disappear. Kevin is already changing, drawn toward older boys who have learned to let go of their dreams. But Gush still wants to be an astronaut. When his soccer ball flies into the yard of Gershwin, the strange man who keeps to himself, Gush discovers the truth. Gershwin is his future self, returning after forty years to warn him, guide him, and give him a gift. He wants to offer Gush one last weekend to be a child before the world decides who he is allowed to become.
